Ilúvatar's Helm

standards of the Kin

When considering one's personal standing in the world, it's up to the individual to conduct themselves in a manner which displays character of their choice.  As a member of Ilúvatar's Helm however, you must consider the character of the Kinship as a whole.  For this reason some simple rules and guidlines have been drafted to ensure none tarnish the name of our Kinship.

Behavior, etiquette:  Members of the Helm are to at all times display behaviour befitting of mature, serious players.  At no time will Helmsmen engage in spamming, flame wars, sarcastic comments, or any activity which contributes to drama outside of the game, especially gossip.  Your bad behaviour reflects on the Kin leader, and other Kin members, therefore this policy is not taken lightly, and could be grounds for demotion, or removal.

Language:  Use common sense.  Ilúvatar's Helm is an open Kin which could mean that the player you're fellowing with might have strong reservations against profanity, or perhaps they have others nearby their sound system while you're dropping f-bombs via voice chat.  Keep the language clean and professional.

Loot Rule:  There is no "Kin loot rule", however to clear up any confusion over Need vs. Greed - Never roll "need" on items you plan to sell.  "Need" is only used on items which will improve your current (not an alt) character's stats, or something your character in particular uses (craft items, class books & pages, etc).  In addition "need" may also be used on a trophy item you may require for your house, and items you need in order to complete a particular quest.  "Greed" shall be used if you plan only to sell the item, or don't know what the item is (especially in the case of gift box items.)  When in doubt, ask the rest of the fellowship what the policy is.

Fellowships:  The fellowship leader always has the final say.  Never argue, or conduct yourself in an unprofessional manner (no matter how much of a @#%& they may be).  If your opinions are not being heard, and tensions are high, leave the fellowship.  Period.

Trade and Funds:  Ilúvatar's Helm encourages open trade at no cost to other Kin.  At absolutely no time will any Kin member charge auction house prices to others within the Kinship (if charging money at all!).  In addition, begging on an open channel (be it public or Kin) for gold or loot is forbidden.  We work for our bounty in this Kinship!  Seek help amongst other Kin members, and if you absolutely require funds, send a tell to an officer who will in turn contact the Kin leader.

Role Playing:  As a member of Ilúvatar's Helm, it is expected that you respect others in-character as well as out of character.  We are a just, and good-willed Kinship, and shall display actions as such.  Always say hello, bow or show a sign of respect when encountering other Kin members, and other important player-characters (Kin leaders for example).  Be courteous to all you encounter in your travels.

Pvmp rules of engagement

Respect:  Always conduct yourself in a respectful manner on the battlefield.  At no time will members of the Helm engage in "corpse jumping" or otherwise disrespectful gestures.  Act like it's not your first time in combat.

Spying:  Intelligence on Creep tactics and movements aquired from outside of standard play (messenger services, phone calls, duel player accounts, etc.) is strictly forbidden.  Warriors need no such crutch.

Follow your Raid Leader:  Regardless of what you might think, things work out a lot better if everyone in the raid just does what is required by the Raid Leader.  Offer suggestions when time permits, but be a part of the team, and not accross the map on your own somewhere screaming for help.

Battle Prowess:  Burn down every Creep with an unrelenting bloodlust.  Follow your raid target assist, recharge when you must, and then get back to the slaughter!

Dueling:  Members will not interrupt a duel in progress - provided it's a known duel.  Do not hesitate to otherwise assist a lone combatant who asks for aid.  Upon completion of the duel, the victor shall be given free passage to go unhindered about their way.

Be Positive, Supportive, and Proactive:  You can work hard to better a situation, OR you can cry about how the Creeps just rolled two trolls, give up altogether, and side with the enemies of Iluvatar's Helm and the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.  When things start to look bleak, man up, and be apart of a solution.  Death to whiners!

Take a Break:  Above all, this is just a game.  The keeps will always be red in the morning, there will be times when our numbers are at a great disadvantage, and other factors will contribute to our level of stress.  Use your judgement, and take a break from the game if things get a little out of control.
